The One World Calendar Group is a network of six partner organisations. Five NGOs, namely Helvetas Switzerland, 11.11.11/CNCD Belgium, OxfamNovib the Netherlands, Cimade France, Intermón Oxfam Spain and the magazine New Internationalist Great Britain, plus the associated partner Food for the Hungry Japan.
Since the founding date in 1973 the group cooperates in the development of an annual calendar. The One World Calendar is a celebration of a shared humanity, the photographs provide an insight into the lives of people in different cultures throughout the world, focusing on those living in the Third World. Worldwide there are about 170'000 calendars sold.
The main targets of the collaboration are:
- to enable new partners in other countries to join the project to
exchange ideas of strategies to promote the calendar
(and calendar related products)
- to exchange ideas and services in other fields (fundraising etc.)
related to development co-operation and development education
- to build the One World Calendar to be an established international
brand name
- to reduce costs of production where possible
